First Contacts at Kamay Botany Bay
Stage 2: A virtual lesson on Zoom
During the virtual lesson students will:
• Learn about Dharawal life and culture for the first inhabitants before Cook’s arrival at Kamay
• Participate in a play to understand some of the significant events when James Cook sailed into Botany Bay in 1770
• Work as a botanist or botanical artist to create a drawing just as Solander and Parkinson did in 1770
The lesson will be hands-on, educational, fun and interactive. Lessons will be presented by Environmental Education teachers
