Harvesting the bark and making traditional bark canoes
Bark canoes were sighted in Botany Bay in 1770 by James Cook.
Have you ever wondered how they were made? In June 2019 Aboriginal knowledge holders harvested the bark and made 3 canoes.
The museum at Kurnell has a four metre bark canoe.
