Geography Action

Participants will be introduced to a model of technology integration, and how this can be used to guide the meaningful use of technology in Geography. Participants will explore the use of apps and mobile devices to support the communication phase of the geography inquiry process.

This course will contribute 2 hours towards New South Wales education standards authority (NESA) registered professional development addressing the following Professional Teaching Standards 2.6.2 & 6.2.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers. These hours contribute towards maintaining proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.

Geography Action will help participants develop an understanding of the geography inquiry process and how it applies to the development of sustainability focused and technology rich teaching and learning sequences that can result in positive action for the planet.

Participants will examine and unpack mobile connections, a Stage 4 teaching and learning program developed to support the Interconnections strand in the geography Years 7 to 10 syllabus.
